Support for importing spreadsheet, dBase, text to database

You can create new database by importing spreadsheet, dBase or text.

1. Open New Database

Press "Database" button in the top screen or select menu File --> New --> Database in the main screen.

2. Select Data Type

Select "Connect to an existing database" and select "Spreadsheet", "dBase" or "Text".

Unfortunately, "JDBC", "Adabas D", "MySQL" and "ODBC" are not supported now.

3. Press Browser Button

Choose file or directory from file explorer what you want to import.

4. Finish Wizard

5. Done!

You can see imported data and you can command query from the table.

Enable to link external data

You can insert tables from web pages over network from this version.

Open Calc and select menu "Insert" -> "Link to External Data...".




Input Web page URL and press enter key from keyboard.

)




You can see this dialog and press OK button.




So, you can select ranges to insert tables from web pages.

Enable to select effects and transitions

You can select effects and transitions from this version.

If you want to do it, it is necessarily to show sidebar.

To show sidebar, please select menu "View" -> "Sidebar".




After opening sidebar, you can see effects or transitions by selecting menu "Slide Show" -> "Custom Animation..." or "Slide Transitions...".




You can select effects from this dialog.




You can select transitions from this pane.

Support for saving docx

Apache OpenOffice in PC version is not supported saving docx, but AndrOpen Office is supported it now.

Apache OpenOffice has saving docx functionality but it is disabled and the source code is little old.

I refresh the old source code and enable to save docx.

I have plans to support to save xlsx and pptx format in the future version, too.

Bug Fixes

Fix for Android 6.0

Some native functions are changed in Android 6.0. (i.e. dlopen)

So, it was necessary to change programs for it, and I fix it.

How to save documents to external SD card

It is disabled to save documents to external SD card from Android 4.4.


But you can save documents to the external SD card by "Other Could Storage & SD Card"

1. Select "Save" or "Save As..." and Select "Other Could Storage"

2. Select action overflow and Select "Show SD card"

3. Select app icon and  Select external SD card

SO, you can save documents to external SD card!

Database Is Available Now

Database is available now.


In Older version, database has many bugs and almost doesn't works.

Now, in version 2.3.4, you find database works correctly.

This is first to be enabled to use database with high level operations in Android device.

You can create, open and edit ODB files.

Also, you run query with SQL statements.

There are some limitations with database:

• not supported JDBC drivers (MySQL, Oracle Database and so on)
• There are still some bugs

Improvements

Save session files in going to background

Sometimes, app is terminated by system in going to background.

So if app is terminated, in the next launching, you saw recovery dialog but recovered file is not latest in the older version.

Because saving back up files for recovery (called saving session) is only one time in 15 minutes by default.

From this version, the app is saved session in going to background immediately and recover documents in the next launch automatically.

If the app is terminated or crashed, now you can get latest document without saving.

Enable to quit app by back key

Until the older version, it is necessary to press X button for quitting this app.

From this version, you can quit this app by pressing back key.

If you want to use AndrOpen Office as PC with external keyboard and mouse, you can use this as PC by new PC style.

You can use it by pressing PC Style button in the top screen.

Fix for multiple launching

Until now, if you launch this app from several apps, you may see recovery mode.

This problem is caused by non supported multiple process of OpenOffice.

Now you can open documents by multiple launching.

- Fix for synchronizing with cloud storage

There is some bugs in synchronizing with cloud storage (i.e. Dropbox).

This is fixed.

If you want to do it, press "Window" button in track pad, so left and right buttons are changed as "Move" and "Resize" button.
