Now, supported for native menubar. You no longer use PC style menubar.

You can use it by pressing menu button in lower left of the screen.

AndrOpen Office is updated major version and the version is 4.0.0.


This major update means starting integration of native UI and optimization for mobile screen.


Current version, the UI is based on X Window System and desktop environment.


This will be all replaced to Android (iOS) API.


But it's not enough to support Android (and iOS) devices because they are commonly:

• portrait mode
• small screen
• high resolution.

As beginning, I start to support portrait mode in template dialog.

And all message dialogs are replaced to Android (iOS) API.

How to resize dialogs?

You can resize dialogs by virtual mouse pad.

1. Open virtual mouse pad by pressing mouse icon

2. Switch "WIN" button

You can see "Move" and "Resize" button in the virtual mouse pad.

3. Move cursor to the lower right of the dialog

4. Move cursor with pressing "Resize" button

AndrOpen Office 3.8.0 Released - NAS supported

AndrOpen Office version 3.8.0 is released.


Now supported NAS (Network Attached Storage) in AndrOpen Office.

Server capabilities are:

• Samba 3 & 4
• Apple SMBX
• Windows 7 & 8

In Windows 10, it may be not available by default because SMB 1.0 is disabled in Fall Creator Update. But you can enable SMB 1.0 in Windows 10 by settings. (Not tested)

How to access Google Drive or Box

You can access Google Drive or Box without paid version.


Please note that it's available from Android 4.4+ devices.

1. Select "Open" tab and Select "Other Cloud Storage & SD Card" in the top screen

2. Open navigation menu

3. You can select Google Drive or Box

OpenOffice for iPad Finally Released

This is cross posting from Office 700 Blog.


I'm very happy to announce this today.

Office 700 - OpenOffice for iPad version 1.0 is finally released in App Store.

Office 700 is the world's first port of OpenOffice for iOS.


It takes about 1 year from starting to develop.


Office 700 is based on open source project "Apache OpenOffice" but I had 2 big problems to port this for iOS.

1. Apache OpenOffice is not supported to build for cross compiling

Of course, Apache OpenOffice is not supported to build for iOS, but the more complex problem is not supported to build for cross compiling.

If you want to use open source project for iOS, generally you build it by cross compiling.

2. Technical and political limitations of iOS

iOS has many technical limitations and many policies for publishing to App Store.

I have to overcome these difficulties by many ideas and improvements.

As a result I need much times to port this.


I hope to enjoy Office 700 now.
