We add pre-installed fonts for new languages and bugs.

Fix for menu character

Some menu characters is not correct in older version.

This is caused by font problem.

This is fixed by adding DejaVu font.

How to send debug log to developers of AndrOpen Office

From version 1.3.8, you can print debug log to local storage and send it to us.

1. Go to "Configuration" screen

2. Check "Debug Log" box

3. Start AndrOpen Office

4. Back to "Configuration" screen and Push "Send Debug Log" button

5. Choose your favorite Email client

6. Write comments to developers if needed and Send it

You can get short cut to commonly used operation by navigation bar.

Fix for Android 2.3 and memory problems

Android has a limited number of loading dynamic libraries.

Especially, Under Android 2.3 is limited to about 30.

But OpenOffice has a lot of dynamic libraries over 300.

I optimized the libraries number and reduced the size.

And it was caused ILL_ILLOPC in Android 2.3 by calling some functions.

(It was not caused in over Android 4.0.)

The function call is THUMB code(16bit code).

I change this to ARM code(32 bit code) by compile option and this is fixed.

But why ???

How to add custom fonts to AndrOpen Office

If you find "□" characters or "?" characters or strange characters or not find correct characters in AndrOpen Office, it is possible that these are caused by system fonts.


AndrOpen Office uses Android system fonts.


Sometimes system fonts are poor for international characters.


If you want to see correct characters (included CJK characters), you need to add custom fonts.


You can add custom fonts to AndrOpen Office from version 1.3.0.


You can add as follows;

Go to Configuration screen from main screen.

Push settings icon in main screen.

Enable custom font

Push check box of "Custom Font".

Make /mnt/sdcard/fonts drectory

Default font directory is /mnt/sdcard/fonts or /storage/emulated/0/fonts.

Make font directory by file explorer in this app or any other apps.

Put fonts to /mnt/sdcard/fonts directory

Put fonts to /mnt/sdcard/fonts (or /storage/emulated/0) directory by any other apps.

(Change font directory)

You can change font directory by pushing "Font Directory" in configuration screen.

(Font formats)

TrueType fonts (.TTF file) is supported.

This component is little difficult to port becase Base is based on Java (HSQLDB).

Android is used part of Java but it is not compatible with Java.

And compiled binary format is different.

But AndrOpen Office is little succesed to port Java part of OpenOffice.
